AC rating is the number that counts
AC3 is fine for bedrooms, AC4 for living rooms and corridors, AC5 for genuinely heavy traffic. Most complaints about laminate wearing out come from AC2 being sold for a living room.
2–5 daysTypical job
The look of wood at a fraction of the cost, installed in days rather than weeks. With honest limits you should know before choosing it.
Laminate flooring in Bengaluru costs ₹95 to ₹220 per square foot including underlay and installation. It installs in 2–5 days for a full home with no wet work, which is why it is the usual choice when a floor has to change quickly.
It is an excellent bedroom floor and a poor bathroom one. Both matter.

Standing water swells the core at the joints and it does not recover. Laminate belongs in bedrooms and living rooms, never in bathrooms, and only with care in kitchens.
A 10mm gap at every wall, hidden by skirting. Bengaluru's humidity swings between March and August are enough to buckle a floor laid tight — this is the most common installation failure.
A floating floor over your existing tiles, no adhesive, no demolition. A full 2 BHK in three days, and it can be lifted later without damaging what is underneath.
Every failure we get called to fix started with one of these being skipped.
Over 3mm variation across 2 metres and the new floor will show every dip. Levelling compound costs a day; a bouncing floor costs the whole job.
Foam for laminate, cement adhesive for vitrified, and a moisture barrier on any ground floor. The wrong underlay is why floors creak and cup.
Wood and vinyl move with Bengaluru's humidity swing. A floor laid tight to the wall will buckle in the first monsoon.
Cut pieces go where nobody looks. A floor set out from the wrong edge puts a 40mm sliver right inside your doorway.
Fast, dry, and clean — the reason people choose it.
We check the existing slab or screed with a straight edge. Anything over 3mm variation across 2 metres has to be levelled first, or the new floor will telegraph every dip.
Screed, self-levelling compound or an underlay depending on the material. This is the step that decides whether the floor creaks in year two.
Set out from the room centre or the main sightline so cut pieces land at the least visible edge, never at the doorway.
Skirting, thresholds and expansion gaps at every wall. We hand over with the room cleaned and the offcuts removed.
Including underlay, skirting and installation.
AC3 8mm laminate with foam underlay. Right for bedrooms.
AC4 8–10mm with moisture-barrier underlay and matching skirting. The usual choice.
AC5 12mm water-resistant laminate with acoustic underlay and custom thresholds.

Laid over an existing sound floor. If the substrate needs levelling, that is quoted separately after inspection.
Replacing a floor in a home you already live in.
See renovationAC3 for bedrooms, AC4 for living rooms and corridors, AC5 only for very heavy traffic. Most disappointment with laminate comes from AC2 or AC3 being laid in a busy living room where it wears through in a few years.
Never bathrooms. Kitchens only with a water-resistant grade and the acceptance that a dishwasher leak will damage it. Standing water swells the core at the joints permanently — this is laminate's one real weakness.
Yes, and that is the usual approach. It floats over the old floor with an underlay, so there is no demolition and no dust. You gain about 12mm of height, so door clearance needs checking.
Almost always a missing expansion gap. The floor needs 10mm clear at every wall, hidden behind skirting. Bengaluru's humidity swing between March and August is more than enough to buckle a floor laid tight to the walls.
Eight to twelve years in a bedroom at AC3, and around fifteen at AC4 in a living room. It cannot be sanded and refinished the way engineered wood can — when it wears, it gets replaced.
We work across Bengaluru, and we quote after seeing the site — not over the phone.
We will recommend the grade by room rather than selling one grade for the whole house.
