A cheap bottom-roller track sags and grinds within two years. We use top-hung Hettich systems on runs over 6 feet, where the weight goes into the frame instead of the floor channel.
A sliding shutter is already a heavy framed panel, so adding a full-length mirror costs little extra and removes the need for a separate mirror on another wall.
A wardrobe is judged on two things: whether the shutters still line up in year five, and whether the inside fits your life.
Boiling-water-resistant ply as standard, boiling-waterproof under the sink and near the hob. We do not use MDF or particle board in wet zones — it swells, and no warranty saves a swollen carcass.
2mm PVC banding on every visible edge, 0.8mm inside. Cheap 0.45mm banding lifts within two Bengaluru monsoons; the edge is where a kitchen ages first.

Bottom-roller systems do, especially once dust collects in the floor channel. Top-hung systems carry the weight in the frame and stay smooth much longer. On runs over 6 feet we only quote top-hung.
On runs over about 9 feet, yes. It gives better access than two panels, but you lose a little storage to the extra overlap, and a three-track system is deeper — worth checking against your room width.
Yes, and it is the most common upgrade we fit. A full-length mirror on one shutter costs far less than a separate framed mirror and saves a wall.
About 16 days from sign-off, with 2 days on site. Sliding takes slightly longer to install than hinged because the track has to be levelled precisely or the shutters drift.
