An island modular kitchen in Bengaluru costs between ₹3.2 lakh and ₹8 lakh. The island itself adds roughly ₹85,000–₹2.2 lakh over a standard L or U, depending on whether it carries a sink or hob and what countertop you choose.

A sink or hob in the island means plumbing and a chimney drop through the slab, which has to be planned before civil work. Retrofitting it later in a Bengaluru flat is usually not permitted by the association.
The most-used islands we build carry no services at all: a solid counter, deep drawers below, and two stools on the far side. Simpler, cheaper, and used more.
An island counter is seen from every angle, unlike a wall run. This is the one place where quartz or a full-slab granite is worth the difference over a standard stone.
Finishes are what you see. These are what decide whether the kitchen is still tight in year eight.
Boiling-water-resistant ply as standard, boiling-waterproof under the sink and near the hob. We do not use MDF or particle board in wet zones — it swells, and no warranty saves a swollen carcass.
2mm PVC banding on every visible edge, 0.8mm inside. Cheap 0.45mm banding lifts within two Bengaluru monsoons; the edge is where a kitchen ages first.
Hettich or Hafele hinges and channels throughout, not just on the display doors. Rated to 50,000 open-close cycles — roughly twenty years of daily use.
Every panel is pre-treated. In ground and first-floor flats around Whitefield and Sarjapur this is the difference between a ten-year unit and a four-year one.

Prices are for the kitchen unit including carcass, shutters, hardware and installation. Countertop, chimney, hob and sink are quoted separately so you can compare like for like.
Roughly 12 feet of room width. You need a metre of clear walkway on all four sides of the island; anything less and drawers, the dishwasher and the oven start conflicting with each other.
Technically yes, but it needs planning before civil work — a hob needs a chimney duct or downdraft, and a sink needs a drain line under the floor. In most Bengaluru apartments the association will not allow new slab penetrations later, so this is a decision you make once.
A badly planned one is. A well-planned island is the largest uninterrupted prep surface in the house and holds the deepest drawers in the kitchen. We would rather build you a simple working island than a decorative one.
Quartz, in most cases. The island top is seen and touched from all sides, it takes the most direct wear, and unlike a wall run there is no backsplash hiding the joints.
About 28 days from sign-off. If the island carries plumbing or a chimney it is longer, because civil and electrical work has to finish and cure before the cabinetry goes in.
