Vitrified tile
Hard-wearing and fully water resistant. The default for kitchens, bathrooms, balconies and most living areas.
From ₹85per sq ft
Tile, laminate, vinyl and engineered wood, laid over a properly levelled base with skirting finished to match.
Flooring in Bengaluru starts around ₹85 per square foot for good vitrified tile laid over a levelled base, and rises to about ₹400 per square foot for engineered wood. Laminate sits in between at roughly ₹130 to ₹220 and is the usual choice for bedrooms. The quoted rate should always include levelling, skirting and debris removal, which is where most cheap quotes hide their cost.
Water exposure and foot traffic decide this more than looks do.

Laminate and vinyl can often be laid over a sound existing floor if it is level, which saves both hacking cost and time. Tile almost always needs the old surface removed first. We confirm this at the site inspection.
A 2 BHK laminate or vinyl installation is usually two to three days. Tile takes longer because of curing time, typically four to six days plus grouting, and should be done before painting.
