Vitrified tile flooring in Bengaluru costs ₹85 to ₹180 per square foot laid, including adhesive, levelling and grouting. Tile material typically runs ₹45–₹150 per square foot on top. Double-charge tiles cost less than glazed vitrified but offer fewer designs.
The tile is rarely the problem. The substrate and the grout usually are.
Double-charge has its pattern running 3–4mm into the body, so wear never shows. Glazed vitrified has a printed surface with far better designs but a thinner wear layer. Double-charge for corridors, glazed where looks matter more.
800×1600 tiles look excellent and are unforgiving — any substrate variation shows as lippage at the joints. Over 600mm we level the floor properly first, and we price that in rather than discovering it later.
Cement grout in a bathroom absorbs water and stains black within two years. Epoxy grout costs more and does not. This is the upgrade most worth taking in kitchens and bathrooms.
A high-gloss tile in a bathroom is genuinely dangerous when wet. R10 or above for bathrooms and balconies. We will not lay a polished tile in a wet area regardless of how it looks in the showroom.
Every failure we get called to fix started with one of these being skipped.
Over 3mm variation across 2 metres and the new floor will show every dip. Levelling compound costs a day; a bouncing floor costs the whole job.
Foam for laminate, cement adhesive for vitrified, and a moisture barrier on any ground floor. The wrong underlay is why floors creak and cup.
Wood and vinyl move with Bengaluru's humidity swing. A floor laid tight to the wall will buckle in the first monsoon.
Cut pieces go where nobody looks. A floor set out from the wrong edge puts a 40mm sliver right inside your doorway.
The two invisible steps decide the result.
We check the existing slab or screed with a straight edge. Anything over 3mm variation across 2 metres has to be levelled first, or the new floor will telegraph every dip.
Screed, self-levelling compound or an underlay depending on the material. This is the step that decides whether the floor creaks in year two.
Set out from the room centre or the main sightline so cut pieces land at the least visible edge, never at the doorway.
Skirting, thresholds and expansion gaps at every wall. We hand over with the room cleaned and the offcuts removed.

Yes. Anything over 600mm needs a properly levelled substrate, because any dip shows as a raised edge at the joint. Levelling adds cost and a day, and skipping it is the main reason large-format floors look uneven.
In kitchens and bathrooms, yes. Cement grout absorbs water and turns black within a couple of years, and no amount of cleaning fully reverses it. In dry bedrooms, cement grout is fine and saves money.
Anti-skid rated R10 or above. High-gloss polished tiles are genuinely hazardous when wet, and we will not lay them in a bathroom or balcony regardless of the showroom recommendation.
A typical bedroom takes 2–3 days including levelling and curing before you can walk on it. A whole 2 BHK runs 5–12 days depending on whether the old floor is coming up.
